The charming garden of a holiday property in the South Hams, Devon, is home to this considered and meticulously detailed cabin designed to be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
Our clients sought to create a space for play and refreshment whose form and materials referenced those of the main house and its annexe, and replace a Wendy house that stood on the same spot.

Clad in local cedar, this welcoming refuge is built for socialising. Wine and cocktails can be poured in the drinks preparation area and sipped with friends on the covered decking, which becomes a natural spot for barbecues and long, lazy lunches in summer.
In cooler weather, a wood-burning stove and underfloor heating installed beneath wooden tiles make the cabin into a cosy nook in which to read and play board games. A wraparound bench carefully tailored to the space forms a comfortable place from which to take in majestic views of the valley through the sliding oak doors that open the south elevation to the sun.

A once neglected patch of the garden is given fresh life, becoming a new hub for relaxation and festivity alike.

The cabin is a work of art, thank youNick Greenwood
